Marioff reports that on the evening of 9th November the Helsinki Emergency Services received an automatic fire alarm from the Cirrus Building, Finland's highest apartment building. On arrival the fire service discovered that the water mist system had activated on the 16th floor. On entering the apartment the fire service found that some golf shoes had been left to dry on the sauna stove. The water mist system had operated and put out the fire with no apparent damage.

YLE news in Finland reports that about 09:00 on Sunday, 9 December a fallen light fixture set fire to children's clothing in the Anttila department store in the Jumbo shopping centre in Vantaa. The sprinkler system operated to put out the fire. Nobody was hurt and the shopping mall opened on Sunday afternoon.
