Targeted Review of Fire Protection Qualifications
The New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA) has initiated a review of all sub-degree level qualifications on New Zealand’s qualifications framework. This Targeted Review of Qualifications (TroQ) aims to ensure that all New Zealand qualifications are useful and relevant to current and future learners, employers and other stakeholders.
Qualifications within the Fire Protection sector are scheduled to be reviewed during 2012.
To ensure the views of the sector are well represented, Competenz, in conjunction with the Fire Protection Association of New Zealand, has established a Governance Group to provide strategic direction, guidance and oversight to the review process. The Governance Group will undertake a strategic review of the current qualification pathways and draft a revised model which reflects current and future industry requirements. The group will then oversee the review of individual qualifications by specialist technical groups.
For further information on the review process, governance group membership, how you can become involved, and updates on progress, please view the Competenz website
